There are regions in Bulgaria, that have preserved the romantic atmosphere and the spirit of the past times. From the 'Valley of the Rose' with its central town Kazanlak, through the Shipka Passage, some 12 km north-east from the town of Gabrovo, you will find yourself in the picturesque village of Kmetovtzi. It is an excellent example of what a Bulgarian village was some centuries ago. Its architecture, nature and people will amaze you and you will come back for sure.

The traditional architecture of the Bulgarian house from 18-19 Centuries, with its authenticity, the small cobblestoned roads, the plants around, the fresh mountain air - all this creates the magic of this region.

In the centre of the village you will see a beautiful hotel, that once was an inn. The house, built in 1865, known as 'The Bakalov's Inn', was owned by a rich salesman, that have traveled a lot in Europe and in the Middle East.
